Fund Raising

Welcome to our fund raising page.

In august 2010 we headed off to Bali with out first lot of funds raised and had a wonderful time experience the culture and beautiful scenery. (see pics below)
Money was raised from product sales from Lifewell, Frog's Playground, fund raising activities, miessence products and some personal donation gave us over $700 to buy supplies for the three orphanages we visited: 2 run by Mercy Indonesia, and the Seeds of Hope orphanage in Denpasar.

You can follow us on our 2nd trip on the Long Road to Bali Page or the Bali trip page.

5/6/2011 - Maitland Markets - Thanks once again to Heather Brennen. Another one of her gorgeous baby quilts raised $55.00 for the funds. All up 79.50 was raised for the day. Thanks to everyone who stopped by. July will be our last Maitland market before heading off to Bali to visit the orphanages. From there we are relocating to Perth where we will continue with our markets and more online selling.

shopping for the orphans in Denpasar Baligetting a trolley down an esculator

Shopping for the kids at the Ramayana Mall in Denpasar was a whole lot of fun, and the Australian dollar goes a long way in Bali. With the money we purchased rice, noodles, sugar, oil, deodorant, soap, toothpaste, shampoo, toothbrushes, soccer balls, basket balls, rackets, balls, board games and school supplies.
Don't to this at home, it's not as easy as it may appear. Three floors up, no elevator, only way down, no way I'm doing it haha. Heavy bags of rice there's no stopping this trolley if it made a get a way. Tommy presenting one of the boys from the Mercy Home in Denpasar with a soccer ball

A big thankyou to Kylie who met us at the Mercy home in Denpasar and showed us around and introduced us to the kids, parents and carer. The Denpasar home houses 30 kids aged 11-19, 17 boys and 13 girls who mostly were rescued from a refugee camp in West Timor after fleeing their homes due to the East Timor riots. Others come from poor families around Indonesia. The parents of the home have 2 boys of their own, they are pictured with us and Kylie above. Singajara Mercy home houses 8 kids, 3 boys and 5 girls. We were pleasantly entertained by their instrument and singing talents at both the Denpasar and Singajara Mercy homes (on video soon). Singajara is situated on the north side of Bali. Well worth a visit over the mountains, the views and scenery are spectacular. For more info visit their Mercy Indonesia website or Lifewell for more pics and info.

Seeds of Hope orphanage
Seeds of Hope orphanage Our visit to the Seeds of Hope wasn't prearranged and we turned up to find the kids not there but out having a fun down at the beach over at Sanur, where we were staying. But we did get to meet some of the older girls and boys who stayed behind to do chores, and the pet monkey who shyly wandered over to us. They have a lovely home that is still being renovated. We didn't spend a great deal of time there but achieved what we went there for, to drop off supplies. I failed to use the flash on my camera and not many of my pics turned out here. Also memory, don't go unprepared with little memory for your camera, I'll be better equiped for next time. These orphanages are tucked up the back off the main road so if you plan to visit get clear directions, but getting lost in Bali is fun and lost we got many times.
Seeds of Hope is run by a Balinese couple, Sandra and Tommy. They can be contacted by:
